Water

By Sue Wells on 18 February 2021

Just a tad concerned as I’ve had a couple of ladies approach me this week on separate occasions to say they can go from their first tea or coffee in the morning to their evening meal without having a single drop of water .. or any other fluids for that matter in between

So just a couple of things to get you thinking and encourage you to drink more by pointing out the importance, other than you can survive no more than a week without it, of water .

Water, after Oxygen of course, is the most important nutrient in the body, we’re made up for approx. 60% of it.

Losing just 10% can be dangerous, lose 20% and you’re in big trouble.

It transports oxygen and nutrients through our bodies and transports waste out of the body.

It cushions our joints, cushions and protects our internal organs, aids in digestion and helps to regulate body temperature (by sweating), absorbs shock inside eyes and in the spinal cord.

We can’t store water in our bodies for future .. unless of course you are a Camel and have two humoungous humps on our backs so we use it or wee it out .

Any water you use throughout day via breathing, sweating, weeing, no.2s .. has to be replaced.

Considering we lose approx. 10 cups of water daily it should make sense why we are advised to drink 8 cups of water daily to stay hydrated. More if it’s hot, exercising, pregnant, breastfeeding or unwell.

And other perks are that it has no calories, fat, cholesterol or caffeine and is low in sodium and free !!

So get drinking peeps x

* no prosecco doesn't count

** yes I know it's still a fluid
